Finance Min expects cbank to get access to reserves after talks
MOSCOW, Mar 4 (PRIME) – The central bank may receive access to its reserves frozen by the sanctions after negotiations to avoid a heavy fallout for the budget, Deputy Finance Minister Irina Okladnikova said on Friday.
"We are assessing the sanctions, making financial assessment, assessment of the consequences,” Okladnikova said.
“And, of course, we expect that the funds will be available to the central bank in the framework of further negotiations and that they will not bring about any grave financial consequences for the budget system."
The official added that the Russian budget has enough funds to fulfill all obligations in 2022. The Finance Ministry will step up monitoring of the regional budgets and will support them if needed.
